Games review: MAG, PS3, £44.99

By David Crookes »

Ambition in video game design is a wonderful thing. It pushes the boundaries and raises the bar.

For example, why have 16 players battling it out on an online battlefield when you can have 256?

That’s probably the killer stat for MAG (or Massive Action Game), but a more detailed look into how this plays out reveals a deep level of tactical thought required to rise through the ranks and, ultimately, exert more control over the mile-wide battlefields.

Building your experience in various objectives, from directing air strikes to taking part in parachute drops, will gradually promote you to leader of your squad, platoon and who knows what.
