RIBBLE Valley-based Indigo Rose have been invited to support Eighties’ hitmakers Johnny Hates Jazz at the Indigo at the O2 in London.

Johnny Hates Jazz will be marking the 30th anniversary of their Turn Back the Clocks album by playing it in its entirety at venue on Friday, April 27.

It marks the biggest gig so far for the trio Indigo Rose, led by singer Hannah Spurgeon.

She was invited to play in London after previously supporting Johnny Hates Jazz at Darwen Library Theatre a couple of years ago with her previous band The Remedy.

“We had kept in touch after that and a couple of weeks ago they asked if we were free for the O2 gig,” she said. “It didn’t take much pondering that’s for sure.

“We’re over the moon to get this opportunity at such a prestigious venue.”

Indigo Rose played a number of live dates last year promoting their EP A Cold Spell.

“We gained a lot of experience playing live last year,” said Hannah. “I’d thought of concentrating on writing more this year but now this has come along. We’re so excited.”
