NILE Rodgers and Chic have become the fastest selling act ever to appear at the Lytham Festival - prompting organisers to issue a 'buy now or be disappointed' warning.

This year's festival which runs from Wednesday, July 18 to Sunday, July 22 has seen the biggest demand for tickets ever, even though the event remains five months away.

Festival director Peter Taylor said: “The reaction to our line-up for 2018 has been incredible and I can honestly say we have never seen anything like it.

“Without a doubt, Nile Rodgers and Chic is the fastest selling show we have ever had at Lytham Festival. These tickets really have flown out so we are in the position now that we must warn people that if they’ve not bought them yet, then they really do risk missing out.

“Tickets to all five nights of Lytham Festival are proving incredibly popular and, I know we say it time and time again, but I do anticipate this being Lytham’s biggest year to date.”

The festival opens with headliners Steps with special guests Whigfield, Vengaboys and DJ Pat Sharp; Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics with the Heritage Orchestra and Basement Jaxx will be on the Thursday night and Friday features George Ezra, Emeli Sandé and Rae Morris.

Nile Rodgers and Chic along with special guests Bananarama and Soul II Soul are at the festival on Saturday, July 21 and the event ends with Il Divo with the Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra and special guest Martine McCutcheon on the Sunday.
