THERE is something for all the family at Burnley Mechanics in the new autumn season which has just been announced.

Arguably the biggest show in the programme sees international superstars The Osmonds bringing a special festive treat to the venue with The Williams Christmas Spectacular direct from the States.

The seasonal show will include a nostalgic look at one of the most watched TV programmes, a show on which the fledgling group The Osmonds first came to prominence.

Also included in a great season of music is a homecoming show from Britain's Got Talent and West End star Andrew Darbyshire and a concert by one of Britain's top jazz vocalists and radio presenter Clare Teal.

Other great live music lined up are two of the country's leading tribute bands Rumours of Fleetwood Mac and Talon, the number one tribute to the Eagles, plus award-winning folk outfit Lau, blues legends Paul Jones and Dave Kelly and the return of jive and swing band The Jive Aces.

Craig Charles will be making his first appearance at the Mechanics when he brings his Funk and Soul Club to town and there will be concerts by blues and rock outfit Wille and the Bandits, the ELO Experience and Queen tribute, MAgic.

Once again a striking array of comedy talent is guaranteed to keep us smiling into the winter months with visits from the UK's no 1 punslinger Tim Vine, comic tour-de-force Justin Moorhouse and Dave Spikey.

The comedy continues with The Dressing Room, a brand new show that combines comedy with variety written by Bobby Ball who stars alongside his long-time comedy partner Tommy Cannon, Stu Francis, Johnny Casson and Kate Robbins.

Heart-warming and inspiring theatre productions compliment the programme with a new production of Frank Capra's iconic film It's A Wonderful Life and You're Never Too Old, a funny, bitter-sweet comedy starring Diane Keen (Doctors) and The Bill's Graham Cole.

Burnley Light Opera will present the musical comedy based on the smash hit film Sister Act.

For younger audiences, Jurassic Adventures will be packed full of prehistoric fun - and plenty of dinosaurs.

Other family highlights include Red Riding Hood, Marty McDonald's Farm, The Nutcracker and Hans Christians Andersens's The Snow Queen.

To get the season off to a cracking start the CAMRA Beer Festival will take place from September 10 to 12, closely followed by the 1st Burnley Gin Festival.
