AN enthralling comedy of time travel comes to Oswaldtwistle Civic Arts Centre tomorrow night.

Trench Kiss has been produced by the team at the arts centre.

Creative director, Gayle Knight, said: “This is a quirky play about love, relationships, and time travel. We are rehearsing it in the same way that a professional company would with an intense rehearsal period.”

The play, written by Arthur Smith, follows the story of Jim and Sally who are on holiday in Flanders, fulfilling not only Jim’s obsession with the First World War but his search for the fate of his grandfather, who went missing in battle.

While Jim is off looking at gravestones, a startled Sally is suddenly confronted by Jasper Everly, a soldier who by a quirk of fate has been flung forward in time from the Great War and 1916 to the present day.

Falling for his charm and apparent innocence, Sally elbows Jim and brings Jasper back to London, where he begins a hilarious roller-coaster ride through the late 20th century.

French Kiss, Oswaldtwistle Civic Arts Centre, Friday, June 26. Details from 01254 398319.
