ICE Dance stars Torvill and Dean will star in the pantomime Cinderella at Manchester Opera House at Christmas.

The Olympic champions and Dancing on Ice favourites will be making their panto debut in Manchester as the Fairy Godparents.

Jayne Torvill said: "This will be our first ever pantomime and something we've been wanting to do for some time. We're already working on some brand new choreography which we hope will bring a whole lot more excitement to the wonderful Cinderella story and reworking some old favourites too."

Christopher Dean added: "We're really looking forward to bringing Cinderella to life on skates and spending the festive season in Manchester. We can't wait for Christmas now!"

More stars for the show are yet to be announced although producers promise that the classic rags to riches tale of Cinderella will be breathtaking family extravaganza with glittering sets, gorgeous costumes, big song and dance numbers, bags of audience participation, real Shetland ponies and jaw-dropping skating sequences.

Cinderella runs from Friday, December 4 to Sunday, January 3. Details from the box office on 0844 871 3018.
