THE West End's favourite musical, Hairspray will be performed at the Civic Arts Centre and Theatre in Oswaldtwistle by Accrington Theatre group from June 30 to July 4.

The feel-good production which famously starred John Travolta in the lead role...as a woman, Tracy Turnblad's mother... also includes a Saturday matinee.

Hairspray tells the story of Tracey, a girl with big hair and an even bigger heart who sets out to follow her extraordinary dreams, inspire her mum and win the boy she loves. The songs include 1960s style dance music and downtown rhythm and blues.

Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on the The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme. When she wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight, and meets a colourful array of characters. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show.

Big hair, big heart, big sounds, big dance moves all equal a big hit, so book now!
