CLAYTON-le-Moors pub, the Hare and Hounds, has unveiled its new look following the completion of a major refurbishment to the tune of £130,000 by brewery Thwaites.

In a bid to restore the pub to its former glory, Thwaites, alongside new licensees Kath Skellorn and Paul Crook, have overseen extensive repairs and improvements to both the interior and exterior frontage, giving the popular establishment a much-needed overhaul, while retaining it’s much-loved character.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the pub industry, business partners Kath and Paul have big plans for the Whalley Road pub and are looking forward to bringing it back to life.

Kath said: We want to make the Hare and Hounds a big success.“It has been through a tough time over the past few years and we are looking forward to putting the spirit back in to it.

“We want it to be at the heart of the community, where locals can come, relax and catch up with friends.

“We are delighted with how the refurbishment has gone, it looks like a brand new place and we hope the punters will like it tooas much as we do.”

As well as having experienced new landlords, the pub also now boasts a new bar and food area, a brighter, more modern and inviting interior and a new and improved menu, serving a range of traditional homemade dishes.

Catering to ale lovers the inn will also provide a wide range of Thwaites’ cask ales.

Andrew Buchanan, Thwaites director of pub operations, said: “We are delighted to have Kath and Paul on board at the Hare and Hounds.

“They have a great amount of experience within the pub industry and we have no doubt that they will succeed in bringing the place to life once again.”
