BLACKBURN’S Thwaites Empire Theatre will get three comedians in one show early next year – for one night only.!

Take The Mike presents Daliso Chaponda and he will be joined by the king of comedy banter Dave Twentyman and comedy anchorman MC Ste Porter on the bill on Saturday, January 31.

Support acts are yet to be announced but those going along to join in the fun pay £10 with those booking before Friday, November 28, enjoying a £2 reduction.

Malawian Chaponda began his comedy career in Canada with the acclaimed one man show Feed This Black Man.

Following this, he began honing his craft in comedy clubs across Canada and highlights included appearing on the Trans Canada Comedy Trail TV show and performing a one-man character comedy about a torturer titled Incisions.

Before leaving Canada Daliso appeared in the 2005 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and he used this exposure to secure an agent in South Africa, moving to England six months later.

He has established himself on the Jongleurs circuit of largish clubs and in 2007 he appeared in the Big Value shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.

In addition to stand-up, Chaponda is also a fiction writer and in 2002 he was a finalist in the L Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest. Three years later he was shortlisted for the P&E Award for online writing.

Dave Twentyman is a regular performer at many of the best weekend comedy clubs in the country., He has also performed at music festivals such as Leeds, V Festival and Download and has impressed Dave Spikey, John Bishop and Jason Manford along the way.

Effortlessly funny and quick on his feet, Dave endears himself to the toughest of audiences as an act or compere.

Travelling around the UK and beyond, Dave has built a reputation as a consistently great act with his cheeky, chatty style, delivering light-hearted gags and stories you can’t help relating to.

Dave now also features on the Blackpool Comedy Carpet which is a new tourist attraction featuring the names of comedy greats from past and present.

Since arriving on the circuit in early 2007, Ste Porter is now a professional comedian – a meteoric rise in such a short time.

His affable style relaxes and delights audiences and his quick wit make him a great compere.

Resident MC at The Slaughterhouse, Ste is a real crowd pleaser and widely regarded as Liverpool’s next big comedy talent.

Doors open at 7.30pm with the show starting an hour later.
