THE first images of East Lancashire supermodel Agyness Deyn in the remake of iconic film Pusher have been released.

The former Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School pupil plays an erotic dancer who escapes the country with a troubled drug-pusher named Frank.

The 1996 cult classic film was set in Copenhagen, in Denmark, but is now being remade in English and is set in East London.

Deyn, 28, who once worked at the Village Chippy in Stubbins, stars alongside Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) in the film, which is set to hit the big screen next summer.

The first synopsis of the film has also been released.

It says: “As edgy and explosive as Nicolas Winding Refn’s 1996 cult classic, this English language remake sees a small time London drug dealer descend into debt following a spot of bad luck and a series of bad choices.

“The more desperate his behaviour gets, the more isolated he becomes until there is nothing left standing between him and the nine millimetre bullet his debtors intend to put through his skull.”

Nicolas Winding Refn has recently handed over the reins to Luis Prieto, who is directing the remake.

Refn said: “Pusher was the film that launched my career and to have Luis Prieto direct the remake in London will be an exciting venture.
