Review: Villa Maria Reserve Pinot Noir 2008

First published in Wine reviews Lancashire Telegraph: Photograph of the Author by , Assistant editor

Maria is probably New Zealand’s largest brand. The cherry flavours are there but they are layered and you can almost taste individual black and red ones.

Sumptuous is a word that comes to mind. Big at 14 per cent and big in price but an extra special wine — the difference between the Premiership and League 2.

Villa Maria Reserve Pinot Noir 2008, £17.99, Tesco Villa
