Review: ASHA, Colne Road, Brierfield
4:52pm Friday 13th July 2012 in Pendle takeaways

A CHANGE, as the experts say, can be as good as a rest.
You really fancy a Chinese but you finish up with an Indian — and you really can strike lucky.
This happened to me in Brierfield one night.
A Chinese from one of my tried-and-tested really appealed — but when I arrived at the door the place was packed and a big queue in a takeaway isn’t conducive to happiness when hungry.
I am not the most patient man so it was a quick skip across the road to the Asha Indian takeaway.
It was a first for me — and that is a skip (well, more of a lollop) I will make again.
Left alone to scan the menu I eventually opted for one of the venue’s Clay Oven Classics.
I’ll be honest, I am not too sure what that means but a Garlic Chicken Tikka certainly caught the attention, so why not?
It took a while to cook, but that’s not a bad thing, and when it was done the size of the bag was daunting... And I like a big feast.
Salad, rice and a vegetable curry sauce came with a hefty enough meal, as well as a pot of mint sauce that I never really know what to do with.
It looked promising and didn’t disappoint.
A top feast from a cracking find. A top shop indeed.
