Lancashire Telegraph review by Simone Yates from Thursday August 18

ON my way to work I was planning ahead for lunch and Sandwiches 2 Go seemed to be the most inviting on Darwen’s main road.

In spite of its name, you can also ‘eat in’ and tuck into bacon butties.

The menu is good offering hot and cold sandwiches, and a variety of other temptations including thai sweet chilli pasta or a full English breakfast in a box for £4.

But for a quick takeaway fix, I opted for a chicken tikka salad sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich for my colleague.

The bread was fresh with plenty of salad, including red, green and yellow peppers, onions and tomatoes.

The chicken breast pieces were generous and the meat was fresh and succulent and for £2.50 per sandwich, the value was just as good.

The tikka was spicy, but with a helping of mayonnaise the combination tasted great and even though the portion was big enough there was still room for a little treat.

Fortunately cakes are on offer with a selection for under a pound.

So to finish off we had the toffee muffin for 99p that was just as nice as the main.

I’ll definitely be back, if only try my breakfast in a box!
