Lancashire Telegraph review by Kimberley Hall from October 14, 2011 ADDRESS: 310 Colne Road, Burnley NUMBER: 01282 411777 A LONG week at work more than justified a lazy takeaway Saturday.
After a couple of recommendations we decided to give Premier a try.
We avoided falling into the usual trap of spending a fortune only to throw loads of leftovers away, and my partner and I decided on a curry each and rice to share.
Then came the difficult task of choosing which.
The retro favourites, popular curries and specials all sounded appealing.
We settled on the medium/hot lamb South Indian garlic (£5) and the hot king prawn naga special (£7.50).
The hour wait we were quoted turned into an hour and a quarter, but it was worth it.
I plated mine up and waited for it to cool down a bit while the other half tucked in.
His was ‘lovely and spicy without being too hot with plenty of lamb’.
Mine was very tasty, similar to a jalfrezi but minus the green peppers and with a few chunks of fresh tomato.
The king prawns were full of flavour and all I left were some green chillis that defeated me.
I usually have a moan about the rice not being included, but as the curries are such good value it wasn’t an issue at £14 for the lot.
