A KEBAB is just a kebab according to a mate of mine — but that is not always a line I can agree with.
Some are good, some are bad and one a few weeks ago was just so foul and fungus tasting that is went straight into the nearest bin.
But overall I like a kebab and a spot of menu lottery from the collection gathered behind the door led to a phone call to Khan’s Spice in Blackburn’s Johnston Street, or kebab alley as it could be renamed.
I was almost tempted by one of their daily special curries, my eye even wandered towards the pizza section of the menu...but naturally I went for the Mix Grill Kebab, large of course, in a naan.
When it was delivered to my door about 25 minutes later it was still hot and didn’t need a trip to the microwave.
It was certainly big enough and was rammed with chicken, seekh and donner meat - with enough salad to keep a hungry rabbit happy.
There was also plenty of chilli sauce dolloped on top and while that was just too hot for my taste, I have certainly had worse.
Just to prove my pal wrong some kebabs are better than other kebabs — and while the contents of most kebabs are the same, to be fair Khan’s Spice is at the better end of the kebab scale.
