Tasty Pizza Bar, Blakey Moor, Blackburn.

A NAME means everything. It is the first thing you notice and often the last thing you remember.

So if you decide to call your takeaway the Tasty Pizza Bar, you had better make sure the food sold is pretty well, er, tasty.

If it isn’t you could find yourself having a whole load of trouble.

The Tasty Pizza Bar doesn’t look the most appealing from the outside — but it isn’t about the exterior.

It’s about the food that’s served.

I thought I would give it a rattle the other night as I walked through a deserted Blackburn town centre.

In fact, so quiet was the town at 9.30pm that I was almost surprised to find the Tasty Pizza Bar open, as a nearby takeaway — my intended target — had closed its doors early.

The chap working behind the counter seemed surprised to see a customer walk in but, undeterred, I ordered. Naturally, it had to be a kebab rather than a pizza but instead of my normal doner I opted for a kebab roll in a naan.

It cost £3.80 and was cooked from scratch. I even had a little bit of salad on and that complemented the lamb pretty well, although I would have been happier had the sauce been mayo as requested rather than the chilli I was given.

It was a decent feed.

I can’t speak for the pizza but the Tasty Pizza Bar makes a pretty tasty kebab.
