Review: tCK Deli, Blackburn Market

HAVING recently opened its fourth shop in Blackburn’s new market, tCK Deli is a popular business.

It’s always a good sign to see hungry customers lining up as we approached the biggest queue in Blackburn Market’s food hall that day.

Serving halal cuisine, including a variety of Indian and English dishes, we weren’t disappointed by the choice when ordering our takeaway meal.

My friend went for a Chicken Tikka wrap which was served with salad and a helping of garlic sauce for just £2.50 — and, having been given the option to make a meal deal of it, a soft drink brought the total to £3.

The wrap was packed with chicken and salad which was freshly prepared in front of us and still hot once we got it back home.

Salads, pasta, jacket potatoes and panninis start from £2.50, while the popular curry dishes such as Daal Gosht, BBQ Chicken Masala and Butter Chicken were being sold for just £3.50 — with a chapatti or rice.

I ordered a Kheema wrap that was just delicious, with a hint of spices to liven the tastebuds.

Served with fresh salad, I added a helping of mild mint and coriander sauce that was tasty.

And we couldn’t resist the temptation to order a large vegetable samosa and a meat one. Both were great, although the meat filling was a bit shy, but for £1 you can’t complain.
