Lancashire Telegraph review by Jemma Humphreys from September 14, 2011

IT’S rare to be spoiled for choice on a lunch time menu, but the Food Bowl has customers stumped for a good few minutes as they ogle all the delights on offer.

Myself included. We spent a good five minutes walking around the counters taking in all the salad boxes, sandwiches, chicken pieces, jacket potatoes, the soup of the day and sweet treats all on display.

Eventually, after much deliberation, I opted for a jacket potato baked in the oven with cheese and spring onion, served with a side salad for £2.50.

We had to wait five minutes for a fresh batch to be ready. It was well worth the wait.

It was the softest potato I’ve tasted in Blackburn lately and the filling was a taste sensation.

My friend and colleague opted for a cajun chicken salad, which for £2.70 was good value with a large chicken breast and plenty of salad and a dollop of home made coleslaw.

We also shared a tasty fruit box, with fresh strawberries, melon and grapes and a rather large slice of one of the nicest victoria sponge cakes I’ve sampled.

It’s safe to say I’ve found a new favourite lunch time destination to add to my shortlist.

What a fantastic addition to the market Food Bowl is, if you haven’t tried it you’re missing out.
