HALF of East Lancashire had a beast of a day on Sunday.

Burnley fans celebrated the end of 35 years of painful hurt against Blackburn Rovers thanks to their win at Ewood Park.

It was the party and a half, a generation in the making, and it was kind of rude not to get involved in some small part.

And after a beast of a win what better than to have a kebab that is known as ‘The Beast?

Captain Cook’s on Railway Street in Nelson serves the beast - a kebab that is known throughout Pendle for being the size of a small house with enough filling to fill a large village.

It is more than two years since my last Beast so full of derby joy I headed into the shop to get a supper to celebrate a win that I hadn’t seen since the days of short pants.

The Beast is still massive, still packed with every bit of kebab meat you can think of and still served with cheese and fries in one of the biggest naan breads you will find this side of a time zone.

Yes I was celebrating and yes a melted welly would have tasted pretty damn good in the circumstances but the Beast was top notch.
