SOME people say you should never go back. If you have a good meal at a takeaway, invariably your chances of having a bad ’un next time up are seriously increased.

Well that’s the view of a pal of mine, who never goes to the same fast food emporium twice. To be fair, he may have a point.

I am not really in that camp, preferring to believe that I am quite likely to get good or bad food at any random time.

The one place that bucks that trend if the Nile Original, a corking kebab shop up Preston New Road.

It’s always busy and always good – and it is remiss of me for not eating there more often.

I bobbed in the other night post-cricket and went for my old favourite of a Charcoal Mixed Kebab meal...a dish so grand that you could describe it as a king kebab.

Served on a naan there is enough topping to fill the biggest appetite and the fries that are thrown in are also better than the norm for these places.

A tin of pop thrown into the equation and you have a good meal for £6.

The Nile has always been worth a visit – and it still is, just to prove my pal is wrong.
