GASTRO pub the Clog and Billycock is aiming to go ‘carbon neutral’ after installing a new eco lighting scheme.
Managers at the inn, in Billinge End Road, Pleasington, near Blackburn, used Bamber Bridge-based Lumenata Lighting Design to install new lights that produce less carbon.
The £10,000 project is expected to cut monthly electricity bills from £3,000 to £2,000.
Now pub bosses want to go carbon neutral by spending money saved on sapling trees for nearby schools.
Manager Craig Jackson said: “Switching to LED lights has brought our monthly electricity costs down by a third and even reduced the need for air conditioning because LEDs generate less heat.”
The Clog and Billycock is owned by business partners Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft, who also own Michelin-starred Northcote in Langho and the Three Fishes near Whalley.

Last time i checked, to be carbon neutral, you need to take the amount of CO2 you put out as what you save by creating trees. Unless Clog are going to plant enough trees to save the carbon emissions for the electricity, they use each month. Which would be a lot.
Spending £1000 on some trees, aint goin to cover it
