Lancashire Telegraph review by Vanessa Cornall from November 5, 2011.

AFTER recently winning the title of the best curry house in the North West, Usha in Burnley had a lot to live up to.

As I wondered towards the Rossendale Road entrance with my three hungry dining companions we were greeted by the lovely aroma of spices.

The first thing I noticed about the contemporary venue was just how busy it was for a Thursday evening.

After a very short wait at the bar we were shown to our booth and immediately selected a four-course set menu for four, costing £59.

Almost instantly we were served warm popadoms and an array of authentic homemade sauces.

Then our mouthwatering tikka platter arrived, offering generous portions of shish kebab, chicken tikka, spiced lamb pieces and onion bhajees — and it was instantly obvious why this multi award-winning restaurant is so popular.

Next came the main courses. We had settled on a mixed tikka rogan josh, lamb chilli masala, a chicken tikka jaljushi and a chicken tikka topiaza.

As part of the set meal, we also chose four rices, two naan breads and two side dishes.

As the food started to arrived it became clear we could of easily fed another two dining companions.

Each of the curries had its own unique flavour and all the meats were beautifully tender and cooked to perfection.

After a short break we also ordered a dessert which consisted of chocolate fudge cake with cream for my friends and a dish of ice cream and strawberry sauce for me.

As the bill arrived we were all pleasantly surprised with how reasonable it was.

We paid £80 and that included all our drinks and food.

If you have never tried this restaurant then you must make it a priority.
