Merida is the latest Princess to join the Disney clan, and this flame-haired Scottish heroine is set to steal children’s hearts in cinemas over the summer.
And, with every Disney blockbuster comes the movie tie-in game of the same name.
But don’t let that perturb you too much, as Brave proves to be an enjoyable third-person action-adventure that expands the tale beyond the movie’s storyline.
Young gamers are given the chance to play as Merida as she seeks to banish the curses that have turned her mother into a huge grizzly bear. Basic combat, puzzle solving and platforming will entertain the kids for a couple of weeks, and the co-operative mode is perfect for less confident console gamers to play with their parents.
