Dead Space 3, PS3, £39.99
The Dead Space duo to date has caused a massive stir in the console world, delivering an awesome intergalactic pair of adventures that thrilled and chilled in equal measure.
The third outing focuses on Isaac Clarke and merciless soldier John Carver, who embark on a journey through space to discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak. Crash-landed on the frozen planet of Tau Volantis – which hides the key to ending the plague forever – you’ll need to withstand avalanches, treacherous ice-climbs and the violent wilderness in order to unearth it.
Deadlier evolved enemies provide a host of brutal combat set pieces and a much more action-packed experience than the previous two titles.
Add into the mix the most incredible weapon-crafting mechanics ever seen in a game of this kind, plus the opportunity to team up with a cohort using the seamless new drop in, drop out co-op functionality, and you undoubtedly have the finest release yet in the franchise. Creepy, customisation and co-op – what more could you want? 5/5
