Richard Grindle is a sleazy clown working the children’s party circuit in Ireland under his stage name Stitches.
He is far from a shining example of wholesome family entertainment and arrives late to one party to the obvious annoyance of the parents who have booked him.
Stitches’ timing is awry for the entire party and the children in attendance drive him to the brink of distraction so it’s little surprise when a prank goes horribly wrong and Stitches ends up with a kitchen knife wedged in his body.
He dies from his unfortunate injuries. Years later, the same kids including Tom and Kate attend a party, unaware that Stitches will once again be guest of honour, only this time, he intends to give all of the youngsters the present of an early grave.
