Dame Judi wants credit for parrot

Dame Judi Dench has joked that she should get some credit for her parrot sounds in Cranford.

The Oscar-winning actress plays Miss Matty Jenkyns in the BBC show, but had an unlikely cameo doing some parrot noises.

She said: "They needed to overdub the parrot's noises and we were going to call it back in for the day, but it seemed ridiculous to me - I was in the same scene and knew exactly what he did and what he said so I said I'd do it, and I loved it!"

She joked: "It was actually quite demanding making parrot sounds and I don't think I got a credit for it. I should have a word with my agent."
