The finalists for this year’s One Voice Annual Dinner have been revealed.

The annual dinner will celebrate the fourth anniversary of the organisation set up in 2011 and take place on Saturday, 21 February at Maida Restaurant in Blackburn.

The Dinner will feature the 1V Community Champion Awards, a keynote speech from Dominic Harrison – Director of Public Health in Blackburn and Darwen, One Voice presentations as well as a fabulous three course dinner.

There are five awards up for grabs in February – the Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Institute of the Year, and Youth of the Year. The nominees for the said awards have been voted for by the public and are listed above. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced on the evening.

The nominees for the Institute of the Year (sponsored by It’s About Time) are Abu Hanifah FC, Blackburn Foodbank, Inter Madrassah Organisation and Youth On A Mission.

The highly contested Woman of the Year award (sponsored by hpa Solicitors) finalists are Zed Ali, Christine Hunter, Zahida Ismail and Naz Khan.

The Man of the Year (sponsored by the Baiter Sehat project) finalists are Sadiq Patel, Javed Iqbal, Jaffer Hussain and Dr Pervez Muzaffar.

And finally, the Youth of the Year (sponsored by Star Tissue UK) nominees are Zara Hussain, Aqilah Mohamed, Aqeeb Munir and Adam Umarji.

Zaffer Khan, Head of Communications for One Voice, said, “We expect it to be another awe-inspiring celebration of community work.

“The Annual Dinner also gives us an opportunity to showcase some of the work that we have completed, and we will be providing the audience a preview of the projects that we will be working on throughout 2015.”

The Outstanding Achievement Award (sponsored by H & S Interiors) will be announced on 21st February 2015 alongside the other winners.
