A new group ‘Communities of Blackburn’ is organising a special event as part of Inter Faith Week.

The fun-filled occasion will have group activities, a fun quiz and of course lots of delicious food to help people get to ‘know their neighbours’.

Inter faith week is an annual tradition that helps to build good relationships between communities and highlight different faith based organisations and communities.

Communities of Blackburn are a new group working in partnership with Your Support Your Choice.

Their mission is: “Creating a space for togetherness and belonging, celebrating diversity in Blackburn with Darwen.”

Their main ethos is that they maybe many communities but we are just one Blackburn, they hope to create a shared vison and sense of belonging for all communities.

The intention is to create a space for dialogue and understanding and help people meet new people and make lasting friendships.

Ben Pearson (Project Co-ordinator) said: “Interfaith week will allow COB to put into action our core values, bringing people of different or no faith together socially, to spark conversations, which in turn will promote understanding within Blackburn with Darwen, friendships forming and most of all allowing us to highlight why living in a diverse and multi faith town is both exciting and a great privilege. .”

The event takes place on Friday 21st November 2014 starting at 12am ‘till 4pm. It will; be held at Your Support Your Choice opposite the Library; 9A Town Hall Street, Blackburn.
