Islamic fashion is largely associated with womenswear. Menswear still remains a luxury market that is under-served and under-exploited.

And Islamic menswear is a market waiting to be conquered.

Ismaiel Mansoor has leveraged this untapped purchasing power.

"It certainly seemed that there was a gap in the market for traditionally cut, high quality clothes with a sense of Islamic style.

“Al Mansoori Clothiers is the smart, sophisticated tailoring platform for the modern fashion conscious Muslim man.

“There is a general readiness among the younger members of the male population to enjoy their clothes.

“The Al Mansoori brand is a generous mixture of fashion awareness, imaginative fabric and colour choices and a comfortable stylishness with the Arabian flavour of its origins.

“It is a brand whose essence lies in its contrasting features; contemporary yet traditional.

”Industry experts say e-commerce is an especially important factor for menswear.

Men reportedly spend 30 per cent less time browsing online than women, viewing fewer pages before purchasing.

Research shows the online sales of men’s clothing accounted for 5.1 percent of total retail sales last year, which was almost on a par with women’s clothing, at 5.6 per cent.

Ismaiel agreed: “We’re targeting men on the online checkout. Most men want a straightforward shopping experience that will help them achieve a certain look.

“Online shopping suits men’s shopping habits; men don’t shop, they buy. On our website, www.almunsoori.com we will be releasing a new range of high end Jubbas for the professional man who wants something traditional yet contemporary with fine detail.

“I have been designing and customising men's jubbas and thobes for over seven years but finally decided to set up my own Jubba business this year. “I have a keen interest in the latest fashion, design and aesthetics.”
