At my salons a popular treatment is Bouncy Blow Dry. Clients wear this look for going out, weddings, parties and, if you’re like me, every day is a glam day. This is how to create the look at home.

THE SHAMPOO

The rookie mistake is to choose a hair cleaner that is not to rich for your hair.

Use a gentle clarifying shampoo and for fine hair avoid anything that is conditioning and use a volumising product instead. Always shampoo your hair twice.

THE CONDITIONER

If you want serious volume apply conditioner to the mid lengths and end. For coarse, dry hair leave on for a few minutes, then rinse. For medium to fine hair you can mist leave-in conditioner on the end, which will condition the ends enough.

THE STYLING PREPARATION

Plan the style. To give the hair some va-va-voom use volumising spray at the root and apply a light mousse or liquid styler to the mid lengths and ends.

Rough dry the hair. For thick coarse or fizzy hair remove roughly 50% of the moisture before styling. Use a round brush and begin styling at the front. For fine to normal hair that requires bit of volume rough dry hair upside down until you have removed 70%of moisture. As you rough dry, massage the roots with your fingers.

THE STYLING

Use a powerful hairdryer to smooth and dry the hair quickly. Take some section blow dry hair then put in velcro roller.

For a very full and glamorous style, repeat this all over.

Once you have dried and roller set your hair, spray with hairspray and leave while you do your make up.

Remove all rollers and finger comb your hair out.

THE FINISH

Plan your finish look as you want to wear it, looking at what parting you like. For fine hair finish with volumising hairspray.

For thick or curly hair, finish with small amount of oil to define the layers or curls. Don't brush the hair as it can create static and removes texture.

For extra volume, tip hair upside down and apply hairspray to mid lengths and ends.
