Arts on Prescription to help East Lancashire depression sufferers
11:48am Wednesday 23rd May 2012 in Leisure
PENDLE Leisure Trust’s Arts on Prescription programme is now running courses across East Lancashire.
Arts on Prescription provides art courses for people who are finding life a little tough, such as people who are isolated, stressed or not feeling very confident about themselves and also those suffering from anxiety or depression.
The leisure trust’s arts development manager, Kirsty Rose, said: “The art courses cover a whole range of topics, from glass-making, jewellery, paper-making, drawing and painting to creative writing and sculpting body parts.
“There is something for everyone and all the courses are suitable for complete beginners. Courses are free, although we do ask for a donation towards the materials, only if people can afford it.”
The courses take place at various locations throughout Burnley, Pendle and the Ribble Valley.
For more information, or to book a course, contact Kirsty on 01282 661784.
