A FLOATING art sculpture will make its way into Pendle tomorrow.

The Ark, designed by artist Beth Derbyshire, will moor under Brierfield Mill, at a grassed area off Clitheroe Road, Brierfield.

The exhibition, which is a taster of the projects set to be funded by the Leeds Liverpool Canal’s £2million Arts Council England funding, set off from Blackburn last week.

Councillor Paul White, who leads on tourism in Pendle, said: “Nothing like this has been seen along our canal before.

“We’re delighted to support this unique project which brings to life our Pennine landscape and heritage. I’m pleased that The Ark will be seen against the stunning backdrop of Brierfield Mill which we bought last year as a major regeneration project.”

The Ark is a wooden terrace house on a boat, cut with Islamic art designs and has a living meadow on the roof.

Visitors can watch Pennine Lancashire-themed films on board The Ark from June 6 to 8 between midday and 5pm.
