New date needed for Burnley's clash against Glentoran

Burnley's summer friendly with Glentoran is now subject to a date change.

The Clarets had agreed to travel to Belfast for the prestigious friendly clash on Thursday July 31.

However, officials at Glentoran have now informed Burnley they are unable to fulfil the fixture on the planned date.

The game is still expected to take place in pre-season, but a new date has yet to be confirmed A club statement said: "Burnley Football Club apologise for any inconvenience, which is unfortunately beyond our control."

Apologies for not being able to make the originally agreed date for this prestigious fixture on our ploughed-over turnip patch. Unfortunately one of the lads has a christening to go to on that day, and our goalkeeper is washing his car.
