Bank Top - or Wensley Fold as it is also known - is a close knit community and is situated west of Blackburn town centre.
It is a predominantly working class area and has suffered in the past with anti-social behaviour.
In recent times the area has benefitted from from housing market renewal money (to revitalise the housing market).
This cash has seen the creation of new homes, which is helping to regenerate the area.
Amongst services in the area are Bank Top Community Centre, St. Wilfrid's C of E High School and Technology College which also houses the community leisure centre, a Citroen dealership and the diy superstore, Focus.
