Your guide to Corporation Park
THE Corporation Park area is situated in the north west of Blackburn.
It is an area of mainly terraced housing and encompasses the Victorian Corporation Park.
Corporation Park was laid out by William Henderson and opened in 1857.
The park is now registered by English Heritage as a Park and Garden of Special Historic Interest.
Its main entrance is from Preston New Road and it features a grade II listed conservatory and a viewing platform which affords views across Blackburn and the Pennines.
The ward covers more 120 hectares in area.
There are three schools in the area, Wensley Fold CE, St Silas CE and and Sacred Heart RC .
