TODAY we take our third and final trip into the historical Ribble Valley.

We focus once more on images from days long gone in the area’s villages and a different way of life.

Take a stroll through time to see magnificent mansions and farm workers’ cottages, as well as churches and walking days, when everyone dressed up in their Sunday best.

A century ago, the only traffic to pass through a sleepy Whalley was the horse and cart, although the local public houses looked to enjoy good custom.

If you have any old photographs from the past, Bygones would love to see them.
