A MULTI-academy trust has awarded a two-year contract worth around £180,000 for property services at its schools.

Tauheedul Education Trust, which has two schools in Blackburn, clinched the deal with Eric Wright Professional Services.

The national contract has the option to extend for another two years and opportunity for additional project work.

TET is a mixed multi-academy trust that runs both faith-based and non-faith primary and secondary schools. The contract covers all of the TET schools, which comprise 18 academies in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire as well as three schools in Birmingham and three in London.

Eric Wright Professional Services will deliver consultancy advice and maintenance and help the academies on service contracts.

The team will also support TET in complying with legislation, statutory and good practice.

Helen Olive, head of estates at TET, said: “As the trust grows, it’s essential for us to have a clearer understanding of estates issues across all our schools and academies.

“Working with Eric Wright will make a huge difference, enabling us to take a more consistent approach to estates management as part of our estates strategy, and to offer greater support to individual schools, helping them comply with necessary legislation.”

Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School, which has a sixth-form college, is in Preston New Road, Blackburn, while Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School is in Shadsworth Road in the town.

Eric Wright Professional Services is based in Bamber Bridge, Preston.
