A BLACKBURN petrol station manager has signed a five-year deal with a major fuel provider.

Euro Garages, an independent retail forecourt operator based on the Beehive Trading Park on Haslingden Road, has extended its relationship with Fairbanks.

Guy Bickerstaffe, regional manager of Euro Garages, said: “We are very pleased to have secured the Fairbanks service for another five years.

“As we continue our rapid business growth, it is reassuring to have Fairbanks protecting our fuel stock, enabling us to operate as efficiently as possible.”

Euro Garages will benefit from the transfer of ‘business critical’ data to optimise fuel ordering and pricing strategies.

Bob Conlin, managing director of Fairbanks, said: “We are delighted that Euro Garages has chosen us as one of its business-critical partners and we look forward to working closely with them to embed more of our intelligent solutions in support of their ever expanding network.”

Euro Garages was founded in 2001 by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa with the acquisition of a single petrol filling station in Bury.

It now has 360 sites across the UK and earlier this year it bought 104 sites from Esso and 68 sites from Shell.

It also has partnerships with BP, Esso, Shell, SPAR, Starbucks, Subway, Greggs and Burger King.

It operates 48 Starbucks with 61 Subway stores with plans to open 100 of each by the end of 2015.

In July 2011 the company opened its first motorway services area on the M61 in Lancashire – Rivington Services.

The £12.3 million project was Euro Garages’ biggest investment to date at the time and the facilities include a Starbucks, Subway, Burger King, Spar and glazed foodcourt areas.

In results for the year to July 31 2014, the Blackburn-based company saw turnover climb to £646million, a rise of 47 per cent .
