FLOOD and pollution prevention experts, Detectronic, has appointed two new senior members of staff.

Andrew Southall has been appointed operations manager for the South West of England and Wales and Phill Tuxford as sales and technical support engineer.

The company, on Whitewalls Industrial Estate, Colne, specialises in the design, manufacture, monitoring and maintenance of flood prevention systems used by water companies.

Mr Southall has over 17 years experience of working in the UK water industry including directing the growth of a significant water and environmental engineering consultancy which was sold to an international infrastructure and utility services company.

In his new role, Southall will help scale Detectronic’s business and develop operational bases to serve clients in the South West including Southern Water, South West Water, Wessex Water and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.

Tuxford, 38, has a BSc in Physics, a BA in Human Geography and an MSc in Science Communication and has spent 13 years at data logging firm, Technolog, in a similar role. Over the last six months he has also worked for a water treatment company in the north of England.

Working alongside the directors and business development manager, Tuxford will support business development and enhance existing and new customer relations as well as providing in-house and on-site technical support to further enhance Detectronic’s service levels in this area.

“With some of our key UK Customers operating in this region, his added contribution to our operations and business development team is both timely and valuable.”
