CLOUD computing experts CMS Group has notched up £1million of contracts in the last three months.

The Blackburn-based firm which provides IT infrastructure services, has announced a record quarter for new business.

It advises clients on cloud computing, IT Infrastructure and on aligning IT with corporate strategy.

CMS, which employs 37 staff at offices at Waterside House on Trident Way in Blackburn and in London, has won a raft of recent business including from growing Blackburn-based asset valuation and recovery group Winterhill Largo.

The group, which has eight offices in the UK and overseas and works for clients in the finance and insolvency industries, commissioned CMS to design and install a fully comprehensive IT system.

Neil Duckworth, chief executive of Winterhill Largo, said: “We now have offices in Europe and the Middle East as well as in the UK, and around 100 employees.

“For us it was really important that we sourced an IT infrastructure that could cope with our rapid pace of growth.”

CMS chief executive, Andrew Coop, said: “It’s been an exciting three months for us.

“There’s a growing demand for an intelligent and strategic approach to IT, which is exactly what we offer clients. The stampede towards outsourcing IT is still in full flow, but cloud computing is no longer the novelty it once was.

“Savvy organisations are starting to ask the pertinent questions about how the cloud, and other IT tools, can add value to the business and enable it to move forward.

“Cloud computing services now account for an ever increasing percentage of our turnover and we’re passionate in our belief that the cloud, and IT generally, must deliver a demonstrable return on investment for a business that’s moving to the cloud, or is already there.”

He added CMS Group is on target for a turnover of over £3.5m in the coming financial year and employs 37 people at its Blackburn and London offices and at its two data centres in Manchester and London docklands.

Its clients span a number of industry sectors including hospitality and professional services.
