SNOOKER legend Dennis Taylor has been confirmed as the guest speaker at the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards.
The popular former player, who now commentates for the BBC, said he was looking forward to returning to Ewood Park, Blackburn.
He called the town home from his late teens until he moved to north Wales nearly six years ago.
And the 1985 snooker world champion said he knew more than most about the hard work and endeavour that made East Lancashire businesses tick. He said: “I used to work 12-hour shifts at Waterside Paper Mill, Hoddlesden, to make as much money as possible and then I went to work in an office at a paper mill at Darwen.
“I understand the hard work put in by people in East Lancashire and it will great to recognise that at the awards.”
The awards take place on November 14 and entries are still being accepted for what has fast become the most prestigious event for local businesses to be involved in.
