120 jobs boost at Nelson communications firm

A THRIVING firm on the outskirts of Nelson has unveiled new plans which should see it double its workforce.

Bosses at Daisy Communications want to expand their base in Lindred Road, on the Lomeshaye Business Park, to increase their staff from 120 to 240.

The new venture is the latest stage in the transformation of the old Jakpak site, with the company currently occupying the first and ground floors of the building’s western end.

The company plans to move into the adjacent industrial unit, formerly the Lloyd’s BMW garage, and change the use.

Under the plans the extra accommodation would be served by an additional 109 car parking spaces.

The offices already have a 73-space car park.

Last month the company announced it was combining with Iceland telecom outfit Simin to launch Daisy Mobile.

And in January managing director Matthew Riley announced the takeover of Wiltshire-based 4Com, in an £8.4million deal.
