In a glittering event held yesterday evening, Thursday 9th November, at the prestigious Tower Ballroom, Blackpool local Charity and Visitor Attraction HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm brought home the trophy for Burnley as they were announced winner of Small Visitor Attraction in Lancashire Tourism Awards.

The Award is given annually as part of Marketing Lancashire’s Tourism Awards which has 22 categories focussing on quality and hospitality offered at any destination or business within the Lancashire region.

Sarah Arthur, HAPPA Chief Officer, says of winning “Our category had a fabulous selection of Lancashire attractions that really are the top of their game. We went along to the awards ceremony yesterday to support the event and the fabulous work achieved across all Lancashire tourism businesses. When our name was read out as the winner, to say we were shocked is an understatement. For a small Charity this is amazing for us and everyone who supports HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm. Making it through to the final of such a prominent award meant so much, we are absolutely delighted and thrilled to be the winners of Small Visitor Attraction Award.

As we continue to build on our success it can only mean one thing for HAPPA, we will be able to provide the very best in equine welfare for rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.

We would like to thank everyone at Marketing Lancashire, the judging panel and the sponsors of the event in making this such a special occasion for us.”

The Small Visitor Attraction Award was sponsored by Northern Print Distribution and presented by Burnley born, presenter and broadcaster Tony Livesey.
