A Burnley workplace is celebrating after receiving the Investors In People accreditation.

Refrigerated van specialist CoolKit has undergone a rigorous assessment, with reviewers looking at the company’s procedures, conducting workplace observations and carrying out interviews with employees.

CoolKit first received the accreditation in 2014 and has endeavoured to embrace high performance working principles, which has led to significant growth and expansion.

The company’s leadership team decided to be assessed against the sixth generation of the Investors in People Standard, launched in 2015, which reflects changes in the world of work.

Rupert Gatty, Managing Director at CoolKit, said: “Since the last review, there have been significant improvements both in performance and approach.

“We were delighted to hear that the four key values shining through during the assessment included integrity, innovation, quality and value.

“We believe in creating transparency and trust among the staff, with a clear purpose, vision and strategy in place.”

The report said CoolKit is a business which has continued to embrace the principles of high performance.

The report states: “Supported by frameworks including ISO quality standards, the business is well positioned to handle future challenges it faces. Results over the last three years have been positive, with significant growth in both turnover and profitability, as well as achievements of approved supplier status and quality awards.

“A commitment to developing knowledge and skills within the business is visible. Significant investment has been made in relation to supporting learning and development.

“It was clear that people were committed to ensuring the future success of the business.”
