A GLOBAL education technology provider has awarded packages together worth about £90,000 to schools across the UK.
Promethean, based on the Whitebirk Industrial Estate in Blackburn, made the gesture to 30 schools as winners of a nationwide competition.
Schools were asked to submit creative entries as to why they deserved to receive a Promethean ActivPanel, the very latest in front-of-classroom interactive technology.
The Promethean Grant competition ran from April to May this year and in total had more than 250 entries.
The 30 winners were notified in June and each will receive a fully installed ActivPanel package valued at approximately £3,000.
The schools will also get the relevant training and technical support.
The ActivPanel acts as a collaborative learning centre and can connect with other devices in the classroom such as laptops and tablets, enabling students to complete tasks from the screen on a handheld device or even take turns at the front of the classroom using the touchscreen functionality
The video entry from Tottington Primary School in Bury won particular praise.
