A BURNLEY company launched a ‘virtual office in a box’ at the Burnley Expo North West.

Anvic Developments, which runs Northbridge House and Lodge House in Burnley, and central Manchester office locations, prides itself on being at the cutting edge of technology.

At the Expo North West, held at Turf Moor, Anvic unveiled Ava – the Affordable Virtual Assistant.

Companies of any size can subscribe to the service, which can provide permanent telephone answering or temporary cover.

Paul Dawson, managing director of Anvic, said: “We identified a need in the market for people who work from home or don’t use conventional office space, and still need the professional image.

“We always do what we can to support start-up companies.

“There’s a demand for PA services and extra support, and that’s where Ava comes in.”

Ava can answer calls with the company’s name, with a personalised script, and take messages on the company’s behalf. Mr Dawson added: “With Ava, businesses don’t need to pay for a receptionist but they still have a professional image.

“Ava is the model employee – she is never late, she will never call in sick, she won’t go on holiday, and she never has a bad day.”

Anvic said the service was useful for lone workers who may be out on jobs or companies wanting to grow and develop, and even for larger companies to deal with overspill calls, sickness or holiday cover.

It is also possible to offer telephone numbers with different area codes – ideal for local companies who want to project a UK presence without the office or staffing costs.

Mr Dawson said: “Many businesses now start up with less than £1,000 to invest so this is an affordable option to give the right appearance and service and ensure no important calls and potential business are missed.

“Unlike competitors, it is a PA service answered by a real person.
