IT specialists Lanway have won ‘goalden’ praise from the Premier League after kitting out the Clarets for their top-flight campaign.

The Burnley-based business had just six weeks to introduce a new IT infrastructure at Turf Moor and Burnley FC’s Gawthorpe training ground to meet Premier League standards after securing the £500,000 deal.

Lanway broke through the £15million turnover barrier last year and are aiming for £20million this year.

Lanway managing director Andrew Henderson said: “The IT infrastructure we had put in place over the summer was tested to its limits in those early days but we had superb feedback from everyone we were involved with.

“We had Sky, BT, the BBC and ITV as well as other media outlets all plugged into our new network and, thankfully, it all passed without a hitch, as we knew it would. The Premier League stated that it was unusual for a new network at a newly-promoted club to work so perfectly from day one but we did it.”

Now manager Sean Dyche, his players and staff have access to faster internet connectivity, a highly resilient server set up, a new IP-based phone system and support.

All users will also see huge benefits with PCs upgraded to the latest Microsoft Windows 8.1 Operating System as well as cloud-based Office productivity suite Microsoft Office 365. The new system was put to the test straight away with the Clarets’ first games against giants Chelsea and Manchester United televised and beamed to millions of people worldwide.

“It was a complex job but one our technical team relished, especially as many are Burnley fans,” said Mr Henderson.

“Manager Sean Dyche will have fast internet connection whether he is at Turf Moor or Gawthorpe and we know he is a big advocate of using technology to help take his team forward and we are delighted that a Burnley firm has given him what we believe is the best service to do this.”

Lanway’s work was applauded by TeamCard, who run a scheme in stadiums across the UK, including Turf Moor, where a card is used for every engagement including turnstiles, ticketing and retail.
