DARWEN traders will be making a big sell on ’Small Business Saturday’ on December 7.
Residents are being urged to shop local and support the town’s market traders and independent retailers.
Events in the town include a Santa Treasure Hunt with prizes and a free draw for purchases from selected stalls and shops and music and art displays by local schoolchildren.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be in the town centre, courtesy of Elegance Cards in the Market Hall.
Tease Your Tastebuds in the Three Day Market will be selling hot barms and Christmas spiced strudel, whilst Deli Carlo in Croft Street is setting up a Street Food Kitchen.
Earth Angel is offering 25% off readings or therapies and Mister Fu’s is holding an open day between 2pm and 4pm.
Borough council leader Kate Hollern said: “We want to help encourage more people to shop locally. Every pound spent in an independent shop means money goes into the local economy and helps Darwen prosper and grow for future generations to enjoy.”
