Omar Bakri should just keep quiet

Every so often some people get themselves in to a lot of bother over nothing.

When the Sun newspaper rings you up for a quote on anything to do with Islam, don't say a single word - that is the best advice for people like Omar Bakri Mohammad.

Regardless, he decided to come up with some more strange comments about why it is a sin for Amir Khan to be wearing the Union Jack when he steps into the ring.

And by doing so he apparently sets a bad example to Muslims for showing his allegiance to the British flag.

Now, we have come to expect words such as these from the likes of exiled preacher Omar Bakri in the past.

Every so often he has been rolled before the TV cameras or featured in the tabloids so he can share some of his incoherent wisdom' to an audience of millions.

But this latest outburst really is complete nonsence.

If we go by what the likes of Omar Bakri say, almost everything and anything would become off-limits.

Living in the UK would become almost impossible for any Muslim. I would certainly have to give up wearing my Union Jack boxers.

And that, I'm afraid, really would be a sin.

How this man manages to get himself on the pages of the UK's biggest newspapers is beyond us all.

Some might say he is indeed a victim and is presented at regular intervals to the public in order to distort the image of Islam. It seems everyone has a resident nutter on speed-dial ready and willing to say absolutely anything just about any issue under the sun.

But in all honesty can you really blame the press when such people come out with this sort of rubbish.

The strange thing is, this man actually thinks that in some divine way he is correct.

Amir Khan is one Muslim figure in this country who appeals to both Muslims and non-Muslims.

So what if he wears the Union Jack and is draped in the flag when he fights? Muslims are proud that he does.

We couldn't care less if Amir Khan steps into the ring belting out the National Anthem.

So the next time, Omar Bakri, if you have something to say, here's some plain and simple advice... just let someone else do the talking.

I agree steve,

There is no doubt that People like to Hate. They have to Hate someone. Where there should be tenderness and understanding,

Man has ushered in Hate

Boxing is such a tender and non-violent spectator frenzied sport isn't it.

This is your best blog yet Shuiab,i do know Amir Khan and his family very well, i just wish that every Asain in this country would look at the benefits that this country has given them,i am not saying that asains owe this country anything, but this lovely family have embraced the gifts and potentail that this country has given them, and if you were to compare it to the village that the family origonally came from it is a totally different world, maybe even leaping forward a couple of centuries.

So come on lets have more Asain people seeing the good that this country has brought to them, this world does not need anymore idiots stiring up trouble, good luck to Amir in his next fight. And a terrific post Shiaub, very well done.
