These brainless litter louts should be locked up

With all the troubles going on in the world it is strange how the little things close to home matter so much.

Every other night a couple of people park up and sit outside my house.

Now, I have no problem with people sitting there and having a chat about life and stuff. Sometimes there is nothing better than sitting in a car and talking about what might have been and what might yet be.

I know only too well that whilst times may have changed some things will always remain the same.

Hey, if it keeps them from causing any trouble then who am I to argue?

However, in recent months a major problem has resurfaced.

For a while the litter louts had disappeared.

Maybe they had gone abroad but they have returned with a vengeance.

Over the holidays I noticed no less than four half-eaten takeaway meals dumped on the side of the road.

There are only a few things that can drive a man back to smoking and this, it seems, this could be one of them.

When I was younger I didn't care much about litter.

But that golden rule of 'Don't throw rubbish in the street or you are going to get a slap' kept us on our toes.

As you get older you realise that these kind of people should be locked up.

How difficult can it be? You have as much as you want of your chicken kebab or whatever rubbish people stuff their throats with these days and then put it in the carrier bag and find the nearest bin.

Why the hell dump it on the side of a nice clean street?

Take it home and give it to your mum. Even better, leave the left-overs for a family member to eat.

They'll be thankful you bought them food made from 'industrial spices'.

Even someone who is stoned out of their skull knows the difference between wrong or right.

Now, I know there are going to be quite a few of you e-mailing me saying...'Well why don't you take their registration plate numbers down and report them?' or 'Have a quiet' word with them'.

But I don't think we should really have to. Should there not be enough common sense in people's heads to realise that you can't go around desecrating another man's neighbourhood in this way?

Life is pretty simple. There are only a few rules to abide by and then we die.

Let's just try to follow some of them for a change.
